Nine Navarats means nine kinds of gems. Navarat comes from the Pali word navaratana and means nine jewels. A ring embroidered with nine navarats is called a navarat ring. People wear Navarat rings believing that they are full of charm and blessings. Since ancient times, people have believed that gems have special powers. It is believed that the power of a gem included in Navarat is as follows.

4. Sapphire – Great power of love
5. Garnet – Great strength

7. Coral – Easy to climb to the top

In Myanmar wedding, the navarwat ring, fragrance or perfume are added together within gold or silver bowl and speaking the top of bride and bridegroom with a sprig of eugenia, the marriage ceremony is usually performed.
